Secret Cookies Recipe
Ingredients:
Ingredient Quantity
Hershey’s chocolate kisses, unwrapped 36
All-purpose flour 1 3/4 cups
Unsalted butter, room temperature 1 cup (2 sticks)
Walnuts, finely chopped 1 cup
Sugar 1/2 cup
Vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
Salt 1/4 teaspoon
Powdered sugar As needed
Instructions:
Preheat oven and prepare baking sheets: Preheat your oven to 375ºF (190ºC) and line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
Cream butter and sugar: In a large bowl or using a mixer, cream together the softened butter, sugar, and vanilla extract until the mixture is fluffy and lightened in color, about 3-4 minutes.
Incorporate dry ingredients and nuts: Gradually beat in the all-purpose flour, finely chopped walnuts, and salt until everything is fully incorporated into the dough.
Chill the dough: Cover the dough with plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator to chill for 1-2 hours, or until firm enough to handle and hold its shape.
Wrap the chocolate kisses: Once the dough is firm, use a tablespoon or a small ice cream scoop to measure out roughly 1 tablespoon of dough. Carefully wrap the dough around one unwrapped Hershey’s chocolate kiss, making sure to cover it completely.
Arrange on baking sheets: Transfer the wrapped cookie dough to the prepared parchment-lined baking sheets, spacing them slightly apart. Repeat with the remaining dough and chocolate kisses.
Bake the cookies: Once all the cookies are arranged, place the baking sheets in the preheated oven and bake for 12-14 minutes, or until the cookies have just set and are no longer shiny. They should not be browned.
Cool slightly and roll in powdered sugar: Remove the baking sheets from the oven and let the cookies cool on the sheets for about 5 minutes. Then, gently roll the warm cookies in powdered sugar until they are completely coated.
Cool completely and enjoy: Let the powdered sugar-coated cookies cool completely on the baking sheets before serving and enjoying your secret kiss!
