Heating season is upon us, and while some of us enjoy the cozy warmth it brings, many are understandably concerned this year. Due to the fear of high heating costs, some are even hesitant to turn on their radiators. But don’t worry, there are still ways to keep your home warm without putting a strain on your budget. All you need to do is set your electric heater efficiently to save energy.
To adjust the radiator to the optimal value that will keep your home warm without causing your energy bill to explode, you need to consider a few factors:
Insulation: Make sure your home is well insulated. This includes windows, doors and walls. Poor insulation causes heat to escape quickly, resulting in higher energy consumption. Check your insulation and invest in improvements if necessary.
Room temperature: The recommended room temperature is usually between 18°C and 21°C, depending on personal comfort. Adjust the radiator so that this temperature is achieved in your living space. A thermostat or room thermostat can help you control the temperature.
Timed heating: Use programmable thermostats or timers to only turn on the heating when you are home and really need it. Reduce the temperature when you are away or at night.
Regular Maintenance : Make sure your heating system is serviced regularly to keep it working efficiently. A well-maintained system uses less energy.
