Slow Cooker Savoury Mince. Today it’s overcast and raining in Sydney 🌧 It’s one of those “I couldn’t be bothered” days. So in theme with the mood, I’m going to try my first ever savoury mince in the SC. I will serve it tonight with mashed potato. This is what I threw together:
Ingredients:
500g beef mince
1x brown onion diced
2x carrots peeled and diced
3x small celery sticks diced
1/4 cup of frozen peas
1/4 cup of frozen corn
2x cloves crushed garlic
1 tablespoon Gravox roast meat gravy powder
2 tablespoons tomato sauce
2 tablespoons bbq sauce
1x packet of Continental rich beefy mince
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 cup of water
Directions:
*I combined the mince, garlic & vegetables in a mixing bowl and gave it a good mix through before adding to the slow cooker (I did not brown the mince off first)
*I added the tomato, BBQ & Worcestershire sauce once mixture was in the slow cooker then mixed it around again.
I sprinkled the rich beefy mince packet over the top along with the tablespoon of gravy powder before adding the 1 cup of water. Once that was done I stirred it all again.
I am cooking it on low for 8hrs. I probably would of added diced mushrooms if I had some on hand.
The end result was amazing 🤩 The flavour was there and the consistency was perfect. I will definitely be doing more SC mince dishes in the future. My only regret is not making more 🤤
