Citric acid
A product that is slowly gaining ground among non-chemical alternatives is citric acid. Like vinegar, it can also eliminate that ugly black streak around the toilet.

Citric acid not only has the ability to whiten and degrease, but also performs a valuable anti-scale action. These properties also make it a valuable aid in the care of dishwashers and washing machines.

How should it be used in this case? Very simple, mix 150 grams of citric acid in 1 litre of water in a bowl.

Once the mixture has been prepared, pour it into a convenient spray bottle. Once we have ‘sprayed’, spray the dark circle around the toilet, let it sit and finally rinse.

Microfibre cloth and vinegar
This is a trick adopted by those who are in a bit of a hurry but still want to achieve the desired effect and remove the black streak around the toilet in the blink of an eye.

First we need to get a microfibre cloth, and after soaking it in white vinegar, wrap it around the base of the toilet.

Cleaning the toilet
You will need to cover the whole dark strip and act for at least 2 hours. Finally, goodbye dark circles under the eyes. and without even scrubbing.

The only caveat: both white vinegar and citric acid used on marble or natural stone floors can risk corroding them. So it is good to experiment in a hidden corner of the flat.
