Instructions
Preheat Oven and Prepare Dish
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
Cook Sausage
In a large skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until browned and fully cooked.
Break the sausage into crumbles while cooking.
Remove from heat and drain excess grease.
Prepare Layers
Spread thawed hash browns evenly in the prepared baking dish.
Top evenly with the cooked sausage.
Whisk Eggs and Milk
In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until well blended.
Add Cream Cheese
Add softened cream cheese to the egg mixture.
Whisk until smooth and creamy.
Pour Over Layers
Pour the egg and cream cheese mixture evenly over the sausage and hash browns.
Add Cheese
Sprinkle cheddar and mozzarella cheese evenly over the top.
Bake
Bake for 35–40 minutes or until the center is set and cheese is melted and bubbly.
Garnish and Serve
Let the casserole cool for a few minutes.
Garnish with chopped green onions, if desired.
Serve warm and enjoy!
