Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
Mix wet ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until well combined. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Alternate mixing: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix just until combined—do not overmix.
Fold in pecans: Gently stir in the chopped pecans.
Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. If desired, sprinkle additional pecans on top. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool: Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
