Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease a 9×9-inch (or equivalent) baking dish with butter or cooking spray to prevent sticking.
2. Prepare the Fillings:
In a skillet, cook the diced ham (or your choice of protein) over medium heat until it’s heated through and slightly browned. Set aside.
In the same skillet, sauté the diced bell peppers and green onions for 2-3 minutes until softened. Set aside.
3. Make the Egg Mixture:
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
Stir in 3/4 of the shredded cheese, leaving the rest for topping.
4. Assemble the Egg Bake:
Layer the cooked ham (or other protein) and sautéed vegetables evenly in the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
Pour the egg mixture over the top, ensuring the fillings are evenly distributed.
Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top of the egg mixture.
5. Bake the Egg Bake:
Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the top is golden and bubbly. You can check for doneness by inserting a knife into the center—if it comes out clean, the egg bake is ready.
6. Serve:
Allow the egg bake to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. It’s perfect on its own or served with a side of fresh fruit or toasted bread.
