This area is the dirtiest in the washing machine, but cleaning is very quick.
Fortunately, cleaning your washing machine filter is a relatively simple task that can be done regularly, every 3 to 4 months, to keep the appliance in top condition. Here are some simple steps you should follow:
First, locate your washing machine’s filter. It may be attached to the front, bottom of the unit (often hidden behind a flap at the bottom of the front), or at the back behind a removable panel. For safety reasons, turn off the washing machine and unplug it before handling it. You’re now all set, but you’ll need a few supplies for convenience. Use a container or towel to catch any remaining water that may leak out of the filter when it’s removed.
Then unlock and remove the filter. Be prepared to encounter resistance if the filter is not removed for a while. Once removed, empty the filter. Remember to remove the filter channel elements as well. To clean, use a soft brush or a simple cloth to wipe the filter and remove any dirt buildup. Should you wash it in the dishes? Rinse the filter with warm water to remove dirt. Reinstall it carefully. Plug in the washing machine and turn it back on to check if it is working properly.
