What if the TV turned itself off?
For fans of TV evenings that end in a nap on the couch, the solution is easy: automatic standby. This setting, easy to program in your TV settings, prevents your screen from remaining on unnecessarily all night. Not only do you save electricity, but you also extend the life of your device.
Devices on standby: unsuspected consumption
A TV on standby consumes little, but not zero. On average, modern televisions use between 1 and 3 watts when they are connected on standby. Over the year, this can represent up to €3.5 per device. Does that seem like a small amount? Multiply this figure by the number of connected devices in the home.
Fortunately, a power strip with a switch can make all the difference. With the push of a single button, you cut off the power to all devices on standby. A small gesture, but an annual saving of up to €80 according to ADEME.
