At Vista Del Lago High School in Folsom, students traditionally chanted “USA” to show pride, but officials requested caution, as similar chants had been used derogatorily in other schools.

Senior Ryan Bernal questioned the decision, saying, “Why can’t we chant USA? We’re all American. It doesn’t matter what your skin tone is or where you’re from.”
