We are given optimism that there is still hope when we meet someone along the way who shows us that not everyone has lost the ability to feel sorry for the less fortunate.
On her way to class, Casey Fischer stopped by Dunkin’ Donuts for coffee after seeing a homeless guy collecting spare change on the roadside. He stepped inside, intending to get some food.
The man’s meager earnings of just one dollar were plainly visible to Fisher when she approached. After that, she extended an invitation to sit down with her and even offered to cover the cost of his bagel and coffee.
The guy introduced himself as Chris and informed Fischer that his homelessness was the only explanation for the regular mistreatment he endured.
