1. Provide adequate lighting
Spathiphyllums thrive in light conditions that mimic the dappled shade of their natural rainforest habitat. While they can survive in low light, for optimal flowering, place your plant in a spot with both direct and indirect sunlight. Direct sunlight can burn the leaves, so avoid placing them directly in front of a sunny window.
2. Maintain regular watering
These tropical plants require a constant supply of moisture, but do not tolerate overwatering or standing water well, which can lead to root rot. Allow the soil to dry out 2.5 cm between waterings, and when you water, water thoroughly until water runs out of the drainage holes.
3. Maintain adequate humidity
Native to the jungle, spathiphyllums prefer a humid environment. You can increase the humidity around the plant with a humidifier, by placing a tray filled with water and pebbles under the pot, or by misting the leaves regularly. Aim for a humidity of 50% or higher for optimal flowering.
4. Fertilize moderately
Feeding your spathiphyllum with a standard houseplant fertilizer diluted to half strength every 6 to 8 weeks during the growing season can promote healthy growth and flowering. Be careful not to overdo it, however, as too much fertilizer can damage your plant.
5. Repot if necessary
