BUTTER PECAN CAKE WITH CREAM CHEESE ICING

You will need:

For the Cake:
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
4 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup whole milk
1 1/2 cups chopped pecans, toasted
1/2 cup unsalted butter (for toasting pecans)

For the Cream Cheese Icing:
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
4 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1-2 tbsp heavy cream (optional, for consistency)
