- 2 sticks unsalted butter (1 cup)

- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Caramel Icing:
- 3 cups granulated sugar
- 1 stick unsalted butter (1/2 cup)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- A pinch of salt
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
