Lime in the washing machine? Try these natural solutions

The  washing machine  is the appliance that we could never do without. In addition to saving time and effort, it allows us to always have clean and scented clothes. With time and wear, however, it happens that it is attacked by limestone. Lime is the number one enemy of this appliance.

If we do not remove it periodically, it can cause  damage  to the washing machine and cause it to malfunction, causing deterioration of its components. To remove limescale from the washing machine there are several  natural remedies  that we can use without using chemicals. Let’s go look for them.

Natural solutions to descale the washing machine

A simple and economical solution to descale your washing machine is to use  citric acid  . Citric acid has a descaling and  degreasing action  . To use it, pour 200 g of citric acid into the detergent drawer of the washing machine and run it empty at maximum temperature. To keep limescale away, repeat the operation every 3 months.

Baking soda  is another ally against limescale and is also capable of eliminating bad odors present in the appliance. Baking soda acts as an abrasive by removing dirt and limescale. To use it, pour 150 grams of baking soda into the detergent dispenser of the washing machine and let it run empty at maximum temperature.

Vinegar is a versatile product that can be used for a variety of uses  .  It acts as a very powerful descaler, which dissolves lime. To use it, pour 500 ml of white vinegar into the detergent dispenser of the washing machine and let it run empty at the maximum temperature.

Lemon  is  another solution to remove limescale naturally. Lemon contains citric acid that acts as a descaler and can eliminate  germs  that cause bad odor. Put 200 ml of lemon juice and 50 g of salt in a saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil and leave it on the heat for 5 minutes.
