The Float Test: The Water Experiment That Doesn’t Lie
Imagine: you have a bowl of water and an egg in your hands. Gently dip the egg into the water. What happens?
- If the egg sinks to the bottom : it is fresh.
- If it floats or straightens up slightly : it is old, but not necessarily inedible.
Why? Over time, an air pocket forms inside the egg, making it lighter. A fascinating detail, right? However, be careful : even a runny egg can sometimes be unfit for consumption.
