Who wouldn’t love to enjoy a homemade chocolate cake? I am fond of chocolate cake and especially if you have so many kids in the family who waits for this cake every time. The delicious topping and the warm chocolate dripping in your mouth is a feeling that you will never forget. Moreover, the melted marshmallows are just the perfect thing that makes this cake one of its types.
Whenever I want to make a chocolate cake, I quickly think about the Mississippi mud cake recipe. I learned it a long time ago and have been making this for many years. The layers are way too soft and you can feel the chocolate deep into the layers and in your mouth. It is called mud cake because of a reason because of the topping and its frosting. Moreover, it is one of the easiest cakes to make at home. You just need a flat 9×13 pan for this recipe.
A lot of people use buttermilk in their recipe but I substituted with milk a little sour cream that keeps your cake moist. You are going to love that it will remain the same. The chocolate frosting in this recipe is perfect to use for your other cakes as well as the Texas sheet cake.
