Introduction
Dealing with pests like mice and cockroaches can be frustrating, especially when they invade your living spaces. Many commercial repellents are loaded with chemicals that may pose risks to health and the environment. Luckily, there’s a natural and effective solution you can make at home using just two simple ingredients! This easy-to-prepare mixture is safe, cost-effective, and will keep unwanted critters at bay without harming your family or pets.
Ingredients
Baking Soda (2 tablespoons)
Sugar (2 tablespoons)
Directions
In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of baking soda and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Mix thoroughly to ensure the ingredients are evenly blended.
Place small amounts of the mixture in shallow bowls or lids. These can also be sprinkled directly in pest-prone areas.
Position the bowls or sprinkle the mixture in areas where you have noticed mice or cockroach activity, such as under sinks, corners of rooms, behind appliances, and near entry points.
Leave the mixture undisturbed and replace it every few days until the pests disappear.
Why it Works:
The sugar attracts mice and cockroaches because of its sweetness, while the baking soda reacts with their digestive systems, effectively deterring and eliminating them.
Serving and Storage Tips
Storage: Store any leftover mixture in an airtight container at room temperature. Keep it out of reach of children and pets.
Reapplication: For best results, refresh the mixture every 2–3 days, especially in high-traffic pest areas.
