Cinnamon Roll Apple “Lasagna”
Ingredients:
For the cinnamon roll layers:
– 2 cans refrigerated cinnamon roll dough (8 rolls each), icing reserved
– Flour, for dusting
For the apple filling:
– 4 cups apples, peeled and diced (such as Honeycrisp or Fuji)
– 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
– 1/3 cup brown sugar
– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
– 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
– 1 tablespoon cornstarch
– 2 tablespoons water
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the cream layer:
– 1 (8 oz) block cream cheese, softened
– 1/4 cup powdered sugar
– 1/2 cup whipped cream or whipped topping
– 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the caramel drizzle:
– 1/2 cup store-bought caramel sauce or homemade
